C9400X-SUP-2XL Operation Temperature

Hello Team,

I've been worried lately because I'm deploying a Cisco Catalyst 9407R 2 x C9400X-SUP-2XL supervisors.

Everything is running fine, I haven't seen any warning in logs or leds, Everything is green.

My worry is it because my monitor console shows that both supervisors are running at +65 C or +149 F and it doesn't seems right.

I mean the switch is in a Data Center Condition, every environmental variable are controlled.

If I shoot an "show environment status" everything is in "Ok"

Should I be worried?

what Monitor console, you mean yoyr NMS ?

if I shoot an "show environment status" everything is in "Ok"

If this show ok then you are good, also check show logging is there any alarms in the logs.

suggest to check #show environment summary

show you example :

R0 Temp: Outlet_A Normal 31 Celsius (70 ,75 ,80 ,90 )(Celsius)
R0 Temp: Outlet_B Normal 29 Celsius (60 ,65 ,70 ,80 )(Celsius)
R0 Temp: Inlet_A Normal 33 Celsius (50 ,60 ,70 ,75 )(Celsius)
R0 Temp: Inlet_B Normal 24 Celsius (50 ,60 ,70 ,75 )(Celsius)
R0 Temp: UADP_0_0 Normal 49 Celsius (105,115,120,124)(Celsius)

Thanks balaji.bandi,

Yes, for Monitor Console I mean Network Management System (NMS)

Logs are clear at least there is not entry for temperature.

Then you need to look at the NMS what is the threshold value set there and doing right information gathering.(by the way what NMS)

try snmpwalk and compare the values from CLI of switch and snmpwalk make sure both correct.

Let me double check how is that sensor configure in the NMS.

I mean that rack doesn't seem to be that hot.

Thanks Again balaji.bandi.

Hello

If current status is showing normal and reading is below threshold limit, then every environmental variable are controlled.

Hello shambhu.kumar,

that is exactly what I have:

jjcs227_17-1729977549880.png

Everything is listing as Normal the  only two things are those R0 and R1 ( May I guess are those the Routing Procesors?)

Those have the highest temp. around 60 - 65 but they are still far away from the minimal threshold.

The Supervisors card are not listed.
