Cannot set speed and duplex on Cisco 8200

Currently trying to set Speed and Duplex to 100M and Full on Cisco 8200.

However show run interface gigabitEthernet0/0/2 shows the following:

ip nat outside
no negotiation auto
no cdp enable

Current version of IOS is c8000be-universalk9.17.12.02.SPA.bin
Trying not to update IOS as it is the only approved version for the environment.

Is there a solution to this? Or does anyone have evidence of being able to set the Speed/Duplex on a higher version of IOS.

Many thanks

Hello @omelyanfaris

If GigabitEthernet0/0/2 is an SFP port, then manual speed and duplex settings are usually not supported.

Speed is dictated by the sfp module.

Hello omelyanfaris,

If you are unable to set the speed and duplex on a Cisco 8200 series switch, it's likely because the default setting is "auto-negotiation," meaning the device automatically determines the best speed and duplex based on the connected device.

If you want to manually set speed and duplex, you will be needed to enter the Interface configuration to set specific values. Here is the sample configuration:

As  M02@rt37 mentioned, if your Gigabit Ethernet is SFP, then you can't set speed and duplex manually..! Because they are built for a particular variant of fiber Ethernet, so usually support only the specific transmission speed for which it was constructed, and no other.
