Catalyst IE3300 update with DNA center not possible

Hello,

I tried to update an IE3300 with the DNA center. My problem is that the DNA Center writes the new image to the flash. But the Switch works and boots with the SD flash. but there is no new image!!!
Does anyone have an idea to solve the problem

- what image are you trying to deploy .bin or .tar?
- for some upgrade paths you cannot just distribute the .bin file, you need some extra files from the .tar file
-> try to upgrade using the .tar file

- is the new image present on the internal flash: instead of sdflash: ?
for troubleshooting you can also use distribute +  "skip activation" to transfer the image to the switch
then check where it is stored, and submit  a separate activation job

The image is only available as .bin in the DNA Center.

the old image is also .bin in flash and sd flash

the dna center only writes the image to the flash: and its preset there
A sync of the image to the SD flash is not possible

let's talk about versions:
DNA-center, old image + install mode , new image

Release Notes for Cisco DNA Center, Release 2.3.5.x - Cisco
If you upgrade an onboarded IE3200 or IE3300 device to Cisco IOS XE 17.8.1 or later, ensure that the device is in install boot mode before upgrading

=> if running another DNA center version check respective release notes

DNA is 2.3.5.x  /ie3x00  is 16.12.3 to 17.6.5

the problem is: is the boot variable   boot flash:ie3x00-univers......bin - the update works without any problems

some switches have the boot variable boot sd-flash:ie3x00........bin - It just doesn't work there

This is a "bug" and should be reported to the DNAC team.

However, I do not believe this shortfall is not going to be fixed any time soon.  We have several hundred IE3000/3300 and IE4010 and we never use DNAC to update them.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm currently looking for a solution to change the boot variable.  ?

I get the message: WARNING: The BOOT/config file path points to the
SD flash card. The environment variable(s) is
saved onto the SD flash card

Copy the IOS, from the flash, into the SD-Flash using the command "copy flash: sd-flash:".
