DNA center standalone setup

Hi,

I want to start setting up a single DNAC node (without plans to converting it into a three node cluster).

Following the install guide it mentions in the first part that giving the intra-cluster interface an IP address is mandatory, even though I have no plans to expand it into a cluster.

It also mentions that the physical intra-cluster interface should be connected to a switch and in the UP state.

Later on i read that assigning a VIP is optional in a single node setup.

Do i need a VIP?

Next paragraph says if the intracluster link goes down (and with it the VIP), DNAC will be unusable.

What is best practice for a standalone node?

If I don't configure a VIP, I assume I don't have use the address in the SAN field of the certificate?

An additional question:

I am used to assigning a FQDN to each interface, but I understand that DNAC is only capable of assigning one FQDN for the entire box? Is this correct?

Which is typically used? As I understand it's normally the VIP address, but I have no need for a VIP address.
