DNAC PNP Assistance for new devices

Hi folks, just looking for some advice on the best way to provision new switches.... i'm not sure the way I am doing it is the most efficient, this process was designed when this site first implemented DNAC (for whatever reasons).

The environment uses a management vlan (100) for network devices (this vlan also has dhcp ability) and network devices will use a management svi with a static IP in this range in their final form.

When I get a fresh 9k switch (or 2960X), I use its management port and uplink it into a core switch (core switch hands off an access port on vlan 100).

The switch will then do the PNP and obtain a dhcp address on the management port so I can then claim the device in DNAC and start the provisioning process etc.

Once the device is claimed I then need to shut the management port (or the static ip im about to set will fail because it overlaps with the dhcp address it obtained), setup the vlan 100 and assign the static ip to this vlan on the switch.

I then configure and use the switches fibre ports to uplink into the core fibre ports as trunk mode.

Then have to change the IP in DNAC to the new static and also change some of the switch config as its using the management port as the source interface in the config. so it becomes quite manual.

I think I am over complicating the process and it takes far, far longer than just pasting a config onto a new switch and setting the management svi with a static IP and uplinking into the core with fibre.

any advice appreciated on best practise or other methods people are using to PNP into DNAC.

Thanks in advanced.
