DNAC Un-provision template

Hi,

Is it possible to Un-provision a template from a device?

I want remove the config that was deployed via template from the device and un-link the template from the device compliance check. I have not found an option for this. I am happy to manually remove the config, but without un-linking the template from the device, compliance check is not happy. And while you can acknowledge the compliance failure, when you click on "Fix All Configuration Compliance Issues" it still wants to fix the acknowledged items.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a "Fix this particular configuration compliance issue"

Hi Chris,

Did you figure out how to un-provision a template? I can not find any information on this topic.

Trond

Hi,

You cannot unprovision a template. To remove the configuration pushed by the template on your network device you either have to do it manually, or through another template pushing the "no" form of the commands listed in your initial template.

And in both cases, you will have to remove your template from the Network Profile in order to remove the compliance alert.

Sylvain.

@Sylvain_Che is right here. There is no "undo" button for this.
I just want to add that if you decide to push a template to revert the configuration you make it excluded from compliance checks by adding flags as such:

! @start-ignore-compliance
no ....
! @end-ignore-compliance

ignore-compliance is pretty much what I worked with. There  is still room for improvement in CatC around templates

I agree, but to the developers credit it is getting better! It's getting rarer and rarer that I have to do ugly hacks to get around limitations.
