hello

I have a few questions when connecting VSS for the first time through VSL.

1. Whether to reboot the switch when connecting for the first time
2. Whether to initialize the previously set CONFIG when linking for the first time
3. Measures to minimize risk when linking VSS while using a single switch

Please advise

thank you

If this VSS (6500 check below Guide)

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-6500-virtual-switching-system-1440/109573-vss-migration.html

as per my experience, when you convert the switch from standalone to VSS - all the configuration will be gone, and you need to re-add the configuration back.

Once you configure first switch the second switch same and when you connect to Primary all the configuration will sync from Primary.

Same Case with Cat 9K switch, build SVL you need network advantage License.
