Several VMs behind a trunk port with specific vlans - extended node

Hello,

i have a question.

I have installed a 19" cabinet with a 24 switch as an extended node. works so far.
Now I have to connect several VMs behind one port, but they should only allow certain VLANs. How do I achieve this?

I have already done the following. I declared the port as a trunk via the GUI and added the VLANs manually via the CLI. Is that correct?

Hello @salvatore-sp ,

A trunk port can carry frames from multiple VLAN's. By default, it will allow any VLAN defined on the switch, but you can configure which specific VLAN's are allowed on that trunk like you mentioned.

Also, when you have multiple switches, the links between the switches must be configured as trunk ports with the appropriate VLAN's allowed on these trunk ports.

In the virtualisation server, you also configure the port connecting to the switch as a trunk. If you are using Vmware, this is achieved by setting the Vlan ID field to All (4095).
