Last night I attempted to put my two Catalyst 9500-48Y4C into Stackwise Virtual. One switch is in production and the other one we were adding to it. After some research I was not able to find a command that sets the priority the way you might in regular Stackwise with the cables.
For Example:
Max-9500-1#switch priority ?
<1-15> Switch Priority
From the research I found, the switch that boots up first is supposed to become the primary, with the second switch joining as the standby. However, that didn’t happen in our case. We rebooted the switches in that order, but the secondary switch took over as the primary and ended up overwriting the configuration on the production switch.
Am I missing something here? Is there a reliable way to ensure that the production switch takes control as the active device during the next boot?

Okay, so apparently all I needed to do was run the switch priority and I would have been fine.

That would be awesome thank you, we don't have the maintenance window until next Tuesday so that gives plenty of time!

Check the configuration guide :
you can manually switchover (note if all the down link are dual home no service interruption) - if they are orphan ports then expect have small brief service effect
make sure statefull switch over configured as mentioned in the document.
check failure domain :

Tested this today,
Simply using
Switch#switch priority <x>
Will work just fine. Just have to make sure the one you want primary is 15 and everything else is below that.
