Using C9200CX as Policy Extended Node in SDA Fabric

Dear Cisco Support Team,

We are currently deploying a Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric and have the following Edge Node models in use:

  • Cisco Catalyst C9200-24T/P

  • Cisco Catalyst C9200-48T/P

We would like to clarify if the Cisco Catalyst C9200CX model can be used as a Policy Extended Node, connecting to the above Edge Nodes.
Specifically, is this deployment scenario supported by Cisco SDA architecture, and are there any caveats or configuration considerations we should be aware of?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello, Extended Nodes must be homed to 9300+ Edge Node, cannot home Extended Node to 9200 Edge Node, it will not deploy. 9200CX can be configured as Edge Node, daisy chain on Edge Nodes is supported. You could configure both 9200 and 9200CX as Edge Nodes. Best regards, Jerome

yes you can use CX model, make sure you aware supported features in CX before you purchasing or planning. If you not purchased already i prefer to use cat 9200 or more budget Cat 9300 good option.

check extended node deployment.
