powertool on Linux

Hello,

Is there an issue to run powertool with powershell on Linux.

I installed powershell on RHEL, and I try to run cmdlet from UCS Powertool, but it doesn't work.

I copied Module directory from Windows into Modules directory on Linux (in to /opt/microsoft/powershell), but it doesn't work.

Thank for you support.

Stéphane

Hi Stephane,

Current release of UCS PowerTool Suite will not work on Linux.  PowerShell on Linux is based on .NET Core. UCS PowerTool Suite is built using the .NET framework 4.5 which is not supported on Linux.  We have plans to support PowerTool on Linux in coming days.

Thanks,

Sumanth

PowerTool has not yet been certified for support in Linux, yet.

After copying the PowerTool modules from Windows to Linux, you could try explicitly importing (Import-Module) the PowerTool modules to see if it will work.  At a minimum you will need to import <dir>Cisco.Ucs.Core and <dir>Cisco.UcsManager. (<dir>Cisco.UcsCentral if using UCS Central)  No guarantees.  No support.
