does cisco have recommended version for software/firmware for intersight managed devices? Or is it ok to upgrade devices on the latest version available?
Because on non-IMM you can check on the cisco's software download site for recommended version.

If you are using Intersight SaaS or the CVA and go to initiate an upgrade on a device you can see the current IMM 'recommended' version as indicated by the blue 'thumbs up' icon (and then cancel out):
Using that version as a starting point you can cross-reference against the IMM release notes and hardware compatibility list to confirm whether it would be suitable for your specific environment/config:

Are you using the Private Virtual Appliance or SaaS or Connected Virtual Appliance? And which model of server? The recommended versions will only show up in SaaS/CVA.
If you are using the Private Virtual Appliance (PVA), you could potentially use Powershell cmdlets against a test SaaS account to retrieve the info. There's some open enhancement requests to document this info in additional spots for PVA customers

Brian, I'm having the same issue with Intersight in Saas mode. Has anything changed in the past month where the blue "thumbs up" would not show up? I do not see it for FIs, Chassis, or Servers.

If you haven't tried it maybe a different browser or incognito mode? This is from my SaaS account a few minutes ago:
If it still doesn't appear I'd recommend submitting feedback in the Intersight help bar.
*edit* - Also try expanding your "Version" column it looks a bit collapsed compared to mine and if so it'll hide

Brian, you nailed it. The column wasn't large enough. I'll submit feedback as a visual indicator of some kind to show that there's additional data would be helpful.
