Hi All,

My current Intersight is a PAV mode. Are there Cisco Upgrade Paths that I can refer to?

My current version is 1.0.9-503 and I want to upgrade to 1.0.9-561. Can I upgrade directly?

Thanks.

Hello,

Exactly, I would recommend you follow the path you just mentioned.

Upgrade first to 1.0.9-558 before upgrading to version 1.0.9-561.

Hello,

You can directly upgrade your appliance software version with no issues.
You can refer to the following guidelines for the process as well • https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/Intersight/b_Cisco_Intersight_Appliance_Getting_Started_Guide/m_updating_the_intersight_virtual_appliance_software.html#Cisco_Task_in_List_GUI.dita_5da094ee-88d8-405e-a022-e880cceec4c5

Keep in mind that also a new version of the appliance has been released the 7th of July , version 1.0.9-589.

Hi @fdeleonn

Thank you,

but there is a note inside:

"It is highly recommended that you check the Appliance Account regularly for updates and remain on the latest version of the Intersight Virtual Appliance software as it is continuously improved to include new features and enhancements It is also important to note that only "N-3" software versions of the product are supported, with "N" being the latest version of appliance software

Ensure that the version of the software that you are manually uploading for installation is always higher than the running version"

May I ask if there are N-3 restrictions for upgrading?

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, according to the Cisco Intersight Appliance upgrade guidelines you provided, there are N-3 restrictions for upgrading. The guideline states that only "N-3" software versions of the product are supported, with "N" being the latest version of the appliance software. This means that you should ensure that you are running a version of the software that is within the last three releases before the latest version.

In addition, the guideline also recommends that you remain on the latest version of the Intersight Virtual Appliance software as it is continuously improved with new features and enhancements. It further advises that when manually uploading software for installation, the version you upload should always be higher than the currently running version.

Let me know if that clarifies more towards your question.

Best regards,
Frank.

Hi @fdeleonn

So if my version is 1.0.9-503, I need to upgrade to 1.0.9-561.

There are 1.0.9-536, 1.0.9-538, 1.0.9-558 in the middle, so I have to upgrade to 558 before I can upgrade to 561?

Thanks.

Hello,

Exactly, I would recommend you follow the path you just mentioned.

Upgrade first to 1.0.9-558 before upgrading to version 1.0.9-561.
