Build CML VM and Activate and then Import to ESXi ?

We are looking at purchasing 4 to 5 CML Personal Editions to use in our VMware Lab.  

The Lab is air-gapped with no internet access. 

Can I build the CML VMs on an ESXi host that has internet access, activate / register the product, then export the VMs off the ESXi that has internet access and import it to our air-gapped ESXi host?

it should work as long as VM ID S/N not changed.

Follow-up Question

Once the VM is moved to to our air-gapped ESXi host and powered on, will the VM ever need to connect to internet again ?

I read on another forum that the CML VM can be disconnect for up to 7 days until you're required to re-authorize.

If this true, we cannot use CML Personal Edition as there is no way to get an internet connection.
