How can I maintain static IPs (for Flat and management interfaces) when restarting simulations?

Any time I start a simulation, any management IP addresses or IP addresses of interfaces connected to a Flat are changed.  It seems the IP configuration of those interfaces which are set in configuration are ignored.  This is a major problem in a model with many nodes.

IP addresses of node interconnections adhere to the configuration.

Thanks,

Steve.

Hello Steve,

Each time you will launch a simulation the management IP will get changed because we are not assigning it manually, it used to get from pool IP address configured in settings.ini which is the normal behavior of CML.

Thanks and Regards,

In your topology, add an extension property to each node, named "static_ip" of type string with the IP address you want to use as the value.  Save and restart your simulation and you now have static management IPs.  You may have to make the CML user an admin, and you may need to make sure your topology properties are set correctly, specifically the "Management Network" property.  The static IPs you choose need to be in the prefix defined for the Management Network chosen.  See here for more details, it works, we just implemented it.
