How do I generate multicast traffic into my CML network and what's the best way to test receiving it? Thanks!

I want to test multicast sending and receiving on my CML2 network. What are the best tools to do this? Maybe Trex, VLC, Mpings from a host, etc?  Maybe the Alpine as a receiver but how would i confirm, perhaps NIC stats? Thanks for your help!

Ensure ip multicast routing is enabled on all routers in your topology.

Use an IOSv router as the multicast receiver. On the interface that is connected to the rest of the topology, join an igmp group with whatever multicast address you like (for ex. 239.1.1.1). Select any other device (I wouldn't use the LHR)Multicast Lab setup.png in your topology and start sending pings to the multicast address that you used for the join, (in my ex. 239.1.1.1). You should see a reply from the router that has setup with the join group.

I find a good option is Apline host to send and receive multicast traffic, with the IPerf tool.

just ping to your multicast group from a switch.
