I purchased CML today and decided that I was going to use it as a double whammy get some Linux experience in and install vmware and CML.

CML does not install on a VM on a linux machine VMware does not recognize it as an OS. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong at all.

Set up the ISO and.....Operating system not found.

Does this need a host OS? if so why use iso. How do I get it to work, does it only work on windows VM? if so WTF?

there is 2 main methods for installation.

1. bare metal ISO installation

2. VM installation on top of Vmware

https://developer.cisco.com/docs/modeling-labs/#!system-requirements

for vmware installations, there it will work on given VMware products in above link above any OS which supports given VMware products. better share your installation steps and captures of errors if any
