folks
i have to move my labs from my existing cml environment to a new one - the server hosting my current cml is due to be retired
is there a proper guide on how to do this so i don't end up with two environments and neither working
thanks

You can backup the Labs, also keep snapshot, and move the VM from one location to other (if the SN number not changing you good), if not you need to de-register and register again for License i guess.

Best way is to de-register old one and install new one; then register new CML with Cisco server to be able to use it; of course, if u have any labs, export them while old cml is still registered;
you can find tips and report any CML issues at

Hi mullholland,
I just did an upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3, since this requires a new setup it is a very similar scenario to what you describe. CML 2.3 comes with a migration script that you can use to pull almost everything over to the new server. Just make sure to transfer your license properly.
