Dear Cisco Experts,
I am trying out Cisco Packet Tracer 7.2.1 for my school. I tried to save a running-config ,
by running the command ,
"copy running-config startup-config" and the default filename is [startup-config],
,
I tried many combinations of using [start1-config] & [jungle-config],
may I know what is the valid syntax for the "startup-config" ?
R2#copy running-config startup-config
Destination filename [startup-config]? startup1-config
%Error copying nvram:startup1-config (Invalid argument)
R2#copy running-config startup-config
Destination filename [startup-config]? jungle-config
%Error copying nvram:jungle-config (Invalid argument)
R2#

By the way, I have attached the Packet Tracer file that I was practicing on.
Hope you could enlighten myself and help other.

no, not when doing a "copy run start". startup-confg is the only option.
you can, however rename if you save to flash.

Dear cmarva,
However, I am not very sure of what are the memories in a Cisco router,
I know there are NVRAM, Flash, and ROM (if I am correct, correct me if I am wrong).
There is no Flash memory in a Cisco Packet Tracer. So , could I say, there is no way of me renaming a
"startup-config" in Packet Tracer except in a real physical switch or physical router ?
Best regards..Ed

I am not familiar with packet tracer.
The flash memory on the router depends on the platform. It could be just flash:, or it could be bootflash:, flash0:, flash1:

Pardon me,
I am reading this internal hyperlink and need some time to digest this.
At the mean time, I have yet to try the suggestions on my Packet Tracer 7.2.1.
Blessings and Best regards,
Edwin
