Hi All,
Does Proximity support updates over an explicit proxy? Currently tested this and it can't find the upgrade server.

Graham

Also, any way to disable the check upgrade option? In this customers case they like all software to be tested prior to pushing out new versions.

If the app is installed system-wide, the app won't auto-update. The update option will be there, but the user will have to perform a manual action with administrative privileges at least.
We have no immediate plans to allow disabling automatic updates entirely.

Is this still the case? Is there any way to disable automatic updates for proximity?

I *think* we would honour the http_proxy, https_proxy and/or all_proxy environment variables, as we are using curl. See http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-tutorial.html for details.
Unsure if we honour system-wide proxy as set in windows control panel, actually. Was that what you wished to use?

Thanks for whatever reason it says unable to connect to upgrade server. I might have to install wireshark to see whats happening but so far it does not seem to be taking the Proxy settings that are installed into the browser.

I agree, seems we do not heed system wide proxy settings on windows automatically. A problem if we *were* to heed system wide proxy is that we'd likely not reach the local endpoints. Defining expected behavior for this case is difficult...
