as you can see from above, system tries to upgrade but something goes wrong that I don't know what!?

Please advise,

I see it says not enough space!? well, that is the whole idea of using /overwrite switch!?

hi,

somehow, overwrite /reload did not do the trick and Switch was complaining about insufficient space in Flash. I deleted current image and used copy tftp flash command to upgrade to the new IOS. set boot system and sh boot indicates correct path.

Thanks,

Masod

This is the error message stopping the process from completing.  The TAR file is an IP Services feature set and you're installing it on a switch that may NOT be have IP Services feature set.

You'll need to use the option "/allow-feature-upgrade" to get this going.

But first, you'll need to make sure there is enough flash space available.

Thank you.

It was ipservices fearure set. I ended up installing IPBase by deleting IOS in flash.

I wanted IP service pack. With your extra switches I may be able to do that. There was not enough space in flash to begin with and that is why I used the overwrite switch.

Thanks you so much. I will try and will post result here.

Best Regards,

Masood

Thank you,

I will try this and will keep you posted. however, the whole idea of using archive download-sw + other switches is for not having enough space on flash so the command line replaces current image in flash with a New one!?

am I missing something here?

Please advise,

Best Regards,

Masood

That's not entirely correct.
When no options are enabled the process will keep the old IOS sub-directory. One has to use the "/overwrite" option to instruct the process to delete the FIRST old IOS sub-directory.

The "/overwrite" option won't work if the switch is booting the BIN file from the main directory.

Overwrite reload was used. Feature set upgrade was not.

I should have elaborated more in what options were used by me. I am sorry.

Best Regards,

Masood
