I was given a couple of old access points from a friend of mine. They are currently light weight, so I am in need of converting them. I understand how to do that, as we are a Cisco shop, I just need the software. When I login, with my work or personal account, I can download the Lightweight version but not the other. TIA.

Either you need to contact a local partner, if you know the exact name, or google it you will find the images to download (at your risk some are good and some not as expected).

Autonomous IOS for the 2600/3600/2700/3700 can be found HERE.
NOTE: 2600/3600/2700/3700 share the same IOS code.

I know where I can get it, but I need to contact a local partner. Seems like Cisco on a device that is EOL and <$30 on ebay/ Amazon to have the software available freely. This is a throw away device that would be fun to learn on. Frustrated at best.

2600/3600 are not "throwaway" commodities. The components inside are far more reliable than the 2700/3700.
Not everyone knows that the 2600/3600 share the same firmware as 2700/3700. This means autonomous IOS "meant for" 2700/3700 can be easily used for the 2600/3600.
