Need to upgrade bunch of Cisco 3560 24 & 48 port switches! HELP!!!!!!

Hi All,

My company has a boatload of Cisco 3560's that has super old firmware installed on them, and we need to upgrade to the latest IOS version.

We are currently on IOS versions

12.2(25)SEC2
 12.2(25)SEE2

 Does anyone know the upgrade path to the latest/greatest IOS version for these units? Also, will the device have enough space to upgrade to the latest IOS?

BTW, these units has been EOL since 14-MAY-2016

Any help would be highly appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!

Can we upgrade to 15.0(2) SE without any issues?

What is the EXACT model of the switch.  If the switches are "plain" 3560 (and not 3560G/E/X) then there is no way for the switch to load (and boot) 15.X firmware (because it doesn't have enough flash space).  The "highest" firmware for plain 3560 is 12.2(55)SE train.

I'd recommend upgrading to the latest 12.2(55)SE train because it's a very stable.

Thanks! Can we upgrade to 15.0(2) SE without any issues?

I do not see any advantage with 15.X since you have old Gear, so better  I'd recommend staying with 12.2(55)SE train because this particular train is one of the most stable codes to ever come out of Cisco.

Thank you kindly for the reply! The reason for upgrading is for all these switches to be PCI compliant... apparently the 12.2(55)SE has lots of vulnerabilities; thus the attempt to upgrade to 15.x

P.S. these switches are still running in produciton.

...shrugs.... =(
