Hi there,

currently i'm going to use xrv9000 in the eve-ng but during the loading the ios router requires to enter default username and password. I have tried:

1. root - admin

2. root - cisco123

3. cisco - cisco

4. lab -lab

5. root - root

(also tried with the uppercase) but it says the authentication failed.

Does anyone know the default password and username for xrv9000...

@switschel many thread do not get accepted solution by the OP, so it is often hard to if something did work or if this is still a problem. A number of these posts appear from users who have not gotten the image from Cisco and they are using a lab of some kind where the person who has provided said image has not shared the password/creds.

Yeah, you’re right. I found that OS file online and it wasn’t from Cisco’s official site. None of the username/password combinations actually worked, so in the end I just changed the OS file itself. That solved it right away.

P.S. Thank you all for replies guys, I really appreciate it!

Hello dundient ,

You can use default credentials username as <root> and password as <lab>. If you still cannot login, use <root> as the user name <Cisco123> as password.

You can input the username/password by your-self.

I see this has been open for a while but has it been resolved so far? @taoza actually, what happens when you boot an xr9kv-9.3.3 on eve-ng, is that it asks you to use the VGA port to configure is, because this is where the iosxr default console goes. After a while, it is asking for a Username. Nothing obvious works for me so far, especially not "cisco/cisco" (which is what the eve-ng config script seems to use).

So, I'd be curious to learn what is happening here invisible for anybody who uses a VM without VGA port

I am now working with 6.3.3. This one connects it's console not to the VGA port, but to serial 0, which eve-ng connects to so, here I can actually configure my root user with it's password - and login.
