No, there is no setting on CUPS or Jabber for Windows to configure the number of chat messages that can be saved by client. Chat history can be turned on/off from CUPS admin pages.

Hello Maqsood,

I work for a University and have a staff member that needs to use Jabber to communicate with other personel on another campus. She has been set up with an account at that University and they had her install the Jabber client (version 4.5.7.16762) on her Windows 7 desktop. We opened the required ports on our firewall. We have put in the external server and SIP domain for that University, put in her credentials which was supplied by that University, and press connect. But it tries to connect to our AD servers.

We came back to our office (Networking) and I installed the Jabber client onto my Windows 7 machine, used her credentials, and it worked fine. It connected to their Jabber server cluster. My co-worker tried on his and it didn't work. He logged off his computer and logged in to his local account on the computer instead of the domain. It worked that way.

So why is the faculty member and my co-worker having issues with Jabber contacting our AD servers while logged into the domain and I have no problems?

Hello Maqsood,

Is there any place on presence server or jabber client to add a company contact list(all external peope), if the peope(let's say the name is John) on the comany contact rings my extension, my jabber client lookups the contact list and match the caller ID, then display the call is coming from John?

Thanks

Vivian

Hi Maqsood,

I have a strange scenario:

one CSF and one TCT  or BOT device with the same DN, both are unregistered, on the Line "Call Forward Unregistered to VM" is selected. CSS is configured correctly. There are NO hardphones.

now the caller gets only a busy tone instead the VM

i've tried on several CUCM versions.

is it right? that can not be a feature

Thanks

Alex

We just implemented IM and Presence Server (9.1.1-3) and Jabber for Windows 9.2.4. The one complaint we keep receiving is related to presence. Users want to be able to set an out of office message even when they log out of Jabber. Once they exit or log out of Jabber there custom presence status is lost and they go back to offline. Is this a limitation of Jabber? if so, is this feature on the roadmap?

Hi

At present I am running a PoC for Jabber for Windows and having difficulty to get corporate directory working from the Jabber 9.6 for Windows client.

Version of CUCM, Presence is

System version: 9.1.2.10000-28 CUCM

This system is connected to LDAP server for all end user sync and we are using LDAP server (Sun or Oracle Directory Server)

Please suggest how to enable corporate directory for the EDI integration using this LDAP server and is this LDAP server supported ?

Thanks for your kind attention and hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

M
