Can we send an IM to an Outlook Distribution list?

Is it possible to send an IM to an outlook distribution list?

Eg. users would like to be able to search in Jabber " All Staff" and send them an IM, much like Lync.

What is required for that to work? do we just need a SIP proxy / IM address on the distribution list?

Not in the cup mode. WebEx connect on the other hand does have bruadvast IM

you can look at informacast to send broadcast message to jabber
