Cisco CUBE dtmf and lti

pekoms

Level 1

I am getting a some new cubes ready and during testing for dtmf I noticed the inbound call leg from sip itsp was always Inband and toward the cloud pbx (sip) was rtp-nte as configured.

Both inbound and outbound dial peers were configured with dtmf-relay rtp-nte.

While testing IVR I could not see any digits at all and IVR would not work.

After I added the LTI configuration:

dspfarm profile 1 transcode

codec g711ulaw

maximum sessions 48

associate application CUBE

---

Now IVR works.

Questions, is there a better way than LTI to get dtmf to work?

Is the transcoder only invoked when it is needed?

I expect to have approx 400 calls during peak time so am wondering if during the call the transcoder is used and then released?

Thanks

Hi,

as long as one of the 2 connected parties doesn't support the DTMF method of the other one, then you will always need a device, which does the DTMF conversion. In your case it's CUBE.

The transcoding resource is only used, as long as a call lasts, which needs a transcoding resource.

In your case, because you have this DTMF problem, probably every call will need a transcoding resource.
