Hi all,
my deployment is made of:
- Cisco CUCM 11.5.1 cluster, one Publisher and one Subscriber (it's a working cluster serving device phones).
- Cisco IM&Presence 11.5.1 cluster, one Publisher and one Subscriber (it's not serving any client, and a fresh installation is preferred).
IM&Presence nodes were added in Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Server as per installation guide.
I have been asked to remove (delete) the Cisco IM&Presence 11.5.1 cluster (Pub+Sub) and install again, because of database replication unrecoverable errors.
I followed some guides, and the procedure should be this:
- To reinstall an IM and Presence Service database publisher node:
1) Power down the IM and Presence Service subscriber node
2) Delete the subscriber node as follows:
Unassign all users that are assigned to each of the IM and Presence Service subscriber nodes. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > User Management > Assign Presence Users).
Remove the subscriber nodes from their presence redundancy groups. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Presence Redundancy Groups).
Delete the subscriber nodes from the Unified Communications Manager server list. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Server
3) Power down the IM and Presence Service database publisher node.
4) Delete the IM and Presence Service database publisher node as follows:
Unassign the users that are assigned to the IM and Presence Service database publisher node. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > User Management > Assign Presence Users).
Remove the node from the presence redundancy group. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Presence Redundancy Groups).
Delete the IM and Presence Service database publisher node from the Unified Communications Manager server list. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Server).
5) Readd the IM and Presence Service database publisher node to the Unified Communications Manager server list.
- To reinstall an IM and Presence Service subscriber node:
Unassign the users that are assigned to the node. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > User Management > Assign Presence Users).
Remove the node from the presence redundancy group. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Presence Redundancy Groups).
Delete the node from the Unified Communications Manager server list. (Select Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Server)
I took these steps from IM&P 12.5 guide, is this the same for 11.5.1?
Do i need to reboot CUCM Publisher (in maintanance window) after deleting IM&P nodes from Cisco Unified CM Administration > System > Server?
Do i need to open a TAC to remove IM&P nodes from CUCM and perform a fresh installation of IM&P cluster?
Please help.
