Content Server Registration Question

The Content Server User Guide instructs that the Content Server can be registered as a Gateway or Terminal but does not list why one is preferred over the other. Can anyone help?

Hello,

Consider the following when deciding whether to configure your TelePresence Content Server in terminal or gateway mode:

When registered as a terminal, the maximum number of registrations allowed to the gatekeeper from a Content Server is 25, meaning that the maximum number of recording aliases is 25. When registered as a gateway, there is no maximum - i.e. an unlimited number of recording aliases.

If the Content Server is registered to a gatekeeper in terminal mode, only system aliases and dedicated personal recording aliases (with the owner set to api-admin) are available for recording.

Note also that the gateway versus terminal mode decision is relevant for h.323 registrations, not for SIP registrations.
