CWMS (Webex Meeting Server) Upgrade from 1.5 MR1 to 2.5 MR6

Dear all,

I need to upgrade Webex enviroment (Admin and IRP) from 1.5 MR1 to 2.5 MR6 release.

What are the steps of upgrade process of this enviroment? Is there any passing releases i need to update before 2.5 MR6?

All kind of informations will be greatful.

2. MAJOR UPGRADE 1.5 MR5 to 2.5.1.29 (using 2.5.1.29 OVA image obtainable using Product Upgrade Tool. - documentation: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/2_5/Administration_Guide/Administration_Guide/Administration_Guide_chapter_01010.html

Please review these first, and let us know of additional questions you might have. Keep in mind that for major upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 you have some hardware requirements that need to be fulfilled so please read the instructions included in the step 2 for prerequisites.

What is the process about upgrading/updating IRP?

Do i need to upgrade/update Admin firstly and IRP after that?

Hi Mesut,

During Minor Update (e.g. 1.5 MR1 to 1.5 MR5, and 2.5.1.29 to 2.5 MR6), even though you run the update using the Administration page on Admin VM, the system updates all the VMs in the solution automatically including the IRP server. So, all the VMs are updated at the same time.

As for the Major Upgrade, it all depends what kind you opt for:

1. Automatic - all the 2.5.1.29 VMs are automatically created during the Upgrade process (all but 2.5 Admin Upgrade VM which you deploy manually in the beginning),

2. Manual - you are deploying all the 2.5 VMs manually and transferring data manually
