                   Hello guys!

Can Cisco Jabber clients (On Premise Presence option on BE6000 deployment) of one enterprise communicate with Microsoft Lync clients (or other IM clients) outside the enterprise, i.e., public clients or other enterprises?

This is what I use...

Federation is included with CUPS Jabber for the following.

  • Google Talk
  • IBM Lotus Sametime
  • WebEx Connect
  • Cisco Unified Presence Server
  • Other Cisco Jabber organizations
  • Intra-Domain federation to OCS and Lync <-- although INTRA domain would imply inside the same enterprise

Tou can also Buy licenses for to Federate with the following:

  • AOL AIM (SKU CUP-Federation)

Thanks for the reply Steven. So integration with Lync is only allowed within the same enterprise?

Excellent Steven. Thanks a lot!

Hi Steven,

I have tough time with this Jabber - Lync Integration. Hope i can get your help!

Our setup is like this; IM Presence 9.0 & Lync Server 2010 in same domain(trying Intra Domain Federation).

Currently Jabber client is able to send IM to Lync, but the Lync is not able to communicate jabber.

Lync is getting pop up when i add users on lync into jabber & also when the IM is sent.

No presence status on both side between.

Do you have any ideas for this? Please.

Thanks,

Jayadurai
