I have noticed the deny access to your local contacts on an Android phone is different from the iPhone behaviour. It seems denying access to contacts on an Android phone does not stop you using your local contacts via the button on the dialler screen. On iPhone if you deny access to the contacts for Jabber you are blocked from accessing them from this button. It appears the only thing the Deny setting for Android does is stop you looking up a local contact via the search screen. Why isn't the Android functionality the same as the iPhone?
