JABBER integration with cisco unity

Hello team,

we have done the configuration and the cucm. Voicemail works but from jabber we can't access the voicemail inbox. We noticed that voicemail is not connected (the vmrest is not connected). Do you have a solution to this problem?

Hi @Alex2025, this is usually seen due to authentication related issues related to OAuth.  You may want to check to see how you have CUCM configured for any OAuth and ensure that CUC matches.  A quick reference guide is here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/unified-communications/jabber/212794-cisco-collaboration-solutions-12-0-oaut.html#anc15

You could enable all levels of the VMREST micro trace on Unity and restart Jabber and pull a PRT as well as pull "Connection Tomcat Application", "Cisco Tomcat", "Cisco Tomcat Security", you'll likely see auth failures.

Thank you for your feedback. However, can we use something else besides OAuth to get the same results (functionality).

Does the Class of Service include "Allow Users to Access Voicemail Using an IMAP Client and/or Single Inbox"?

How is the Jabber Service Profile in CUCM set for Authentication of CUC? If you are using LDAP Authentication on both systems (or OAuth or manually synced passwords or what are you using?), the CUC authentication "Credentials source for voicemail service" should be set to "Unified CM - IM and Presence"

These are the first things I'd check, and you may already have. If these are correctly set we'll have to dig deeper. Let us know.

All this config are already set.

I would suggest getting the Jabber PRT and logs from RTMT from Unity I mentioned earlier.  If you don't want to share them on the thread, you could send them to me in a DM and I can take a quick peek, otherwise you may want to open a TAC case to have them analyzed.

I was going to say the same thing as Brad. If you've covered the basics, the logs are where to go next.
