Microphone not working in Jabber

Lenovo ThinkPad laptop running Win 7. Inbuilt mic showing activity on level meter in Sound>Recording devices, but not on level meter in Jabber>Tools>Settings>Audio. Likewise when plugging in headset, the headset mic shows activity on level meter in Sound>Recording devices, but not on Jabber level meter when headset mic selected in Jabber>Tools>Settings>Audio. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Jabber but same result. Basically mic's function OK in Windows, but not in Jabber.

I am using Windows 10. It was working before upgrade of the drivers for Dell docking station (I think it was RealTek drivers).

could you please check the advance settings (Advanced audio option) on the Audio tab to see if you have the correct audio drive has been given high priority?
