Notifications on a Mac not appearing

Is it possible to get notifications for the Spark Application (Mac) when its quit?  I've got my Mac configured correctly and notifications appear when the app is open just not when it's quit.

It's frustrating to notice missed conversations and questions asked in Spark as I don't always have it open.
