UCM/CUC/CER 11.5 to 12.5 upgrade fails

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of upgrading 3x UC applications - UCM/CUC/CER to version 12.5 and I've run into a critical issue. 

The upgrade seems to be proceeding just fine, the system reboots, installs a bunch of stuff, then when it reboots again, you can briefly see the CentOS screen flash and then it just goes to a black window with a bar. Please see attached. 

The upgrade is from the latest version of 11.5 to the latest version of 12.5. 

I have verified that the VM settings are correct - updated to latest version of VMware, CentOS 64, correct network adapter. 

I have attempted the process twice and it does the same exact thing both times. The screen goes blank and all CPU/disk activity stops. 

My next option would be a PCD Migration, but that doesn't help me with CER. 

Any thoughts?

I did CUCM and IM&P recently and you do see the centOS loading screen, but it should then reboot back to the old version, assuming that was what you chose to do

Hi Jaime, it's a refresh upgrade, there is no option to go back.

Did you get CER to work? I'm doing a CER upgrade from 11.5 to 12.5 and having the same issue.
