Unable to call Cisco Meeting App from Skype for Business client 2016

Hi,

I have deployed Skype for business front end server 2019 and I'm able to receive calls from Cisco Meeting App Clients and Cisco jabber Clients but I'm not able to make outbound calls to the Cisco Meeting App clients and Cisco Jabber Clients from Skype for Business Client 2016. Can you help me to sort out the issue?

Error log: "Operation was unsuccessful".
The calling service did not respond. Wait and then try again.
If the problem continues, contact your support team with this information.

What is your setup?  What is your Topology and Trusted Applications?  What is the next hop from Skype?  Is it Expressway or CMS?  Do you have static routes from your SFB FE servers pointing to the next hop for the domain that you are routing to Jabber and CMA Clients?  Do you have inbound rules on the CMS that match the Domain for CMA and the domain for Jabber?  Do you have forwarding rules on CMS for the domain for Jabber?  I have you done any SIP and DNS tracing on the CMS?  While this doesn't specifically cover Skype Integrations, here is a Cisco Live Session that is awesome for troubleshooting CMS: https://www.ciscolive.com/global/on-demand-library.html?search.event=ciscoliveemea2019&search.featured=cloSessionsWithVideo&search.technology=scpsTechnology_collaboration&search=vernon%20depee#/session/1532112884190001tfB0

There are plenty of other good Cisco Live Sessions on Cisco and MS Interop, but the link above is one of the best for troubleshooting CMS.

Also, just an FYI, in CMS 3.0 and Higher, you cannot use the CMA client, instead it is the Cisco Meeting Server WebApp, which acts a lot more like Webex Meetings, and Currently it cannot place outbound calls, it can join meetings, start meetings, and add others to meetings. See the release notes for more details. The reason I bring it up, is CMS 2.8 will be EOL soon, so you will want to be on either CMS 2.9 or CMS 3.0.

I hope that helps.  Let me know if you have further questions, busy day, but I will try to respond as soon as I can.

Also, here is a Cisco Live Presentation on Cisco to MS SFB interop:

Here is the Cisco Expressway Traffic Classification Guide:

Here is the CMS Skype configuration page from Cisco TAC:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/conferencing/meeting-server/212217-configure-cisco-meeting-server-and-skype.html

And finally, here is a Lab Guide for interop, that I have referenced before:

I hope that helps.

Hi,

Build a Skype for Business server 2019 and using Skype for Business client 2016 version
Made a call flow between Skype for Business Client - Cisco Meeting Application
Skype for Business Client -Cisco Jabber

Standard Edition Front End server and Trusted Application is core1.gkremote.com (cisco meeting server)

next-hop is Cisco meeting server

static routes are pointed to domains of CMA and Jabber clients

Yes done the forwarding rules for jabber

Not done any SIP and DNS tracing
