Webex app and Webex Meet app- Which to use for streaming live event?

Just want to seek your expertise with regards to which app to use for a live streaming event. Webex app or Webex Meet app?

Good day. Thank you and appreciate for your response which I will share the information to the event organizer too.

As a webex attendee, I was always using the Webex app (icon without camera) on my android phone. Then recently, I joined a Webex video conferencing, but it requires me to download the Webex meet app (icon with camera). - The event organizer say the latter it is more secure(?)

Going back to my question rephrasing with added details

If the organizer is streaming an event (with several guest speaker, with song performances with music [multiple singer simulatnouesly]), does the organizer need to use - Webex App or Webex Meet?

I'm going to assume you are asking as an attendee in an event.  The Webex Meet app is being phased out and is no longer needed as a separate app to join meetings.  After making sure you have the most recent version of the Webex app, open the app and click on "Join Meeting."  The "Join Meeting" option won't be available until 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

This is not universally true yet. Any site not yet migrated to Webex Suite Meeting Platform (WSMP) still requires the Webex Meeting app on mobile. More to the point of this thread, all Webinars - including those hosted by sites on WSMP - currently require the Webex Meeting app on mobile.

Yes, I agree this is frustrating. It won’t last forever but I’m not certain the timing is public so I’m going to refer you to your Webex account team or CSM to avoid running afoul of my NDA.
