Created by: Stefan Slominski on 08-08-2011 03:17:51 AM Hey Team! We recently encountered a strange behaviour on our CUCM 8.5.1 We created an application user controlling all SEPs, ATAs & CTI-ports... (i know this isn't best practice but our developped tools need this). in uncyclic periods some of those devices are not controlled by this user anymore. doesn't matter if they are SEPs, ATAs or CTI-ports... sometimes its only 1 device, sometimes its 5-20... is there any bug in usermanagement / is there any possibility to prevent this behaviour ? Thanks in advance Stefan

It is hard to indicate what issue it could be, are these devices in the controlled list of application user or are you acquiring them using createTerminal() API? If these are controlled devices you should be able to control them. These would be returned by Provider.getTerminals() API If they are dynamically acquired devices then are you seeing any exception with createTerminal() API?

JTAPI cannot add or remove devices to application user control list. Moreover when the device is added to user control list, the entry goes into CUCM internal database and is persistent and cannot disappear unless someone is explicitly removing them. You may want to see if there is any AXL application or admin controlling or modifying these users.
Subject: RE: Controlled Devices away Replied by: Stefan Slominski on 17-08-2011 03:22:37 AM Thanks for your answer. we are 3 admins and the only additional AXL applications we use are written by me... so i can pretty sure exclude those two possibilities. But just to be certain: do you know a way to trace such admin-/AXL-action (SNMP, RTMT) ?
