Core Issue

After the user upgrades the server to Windows 2000 SP4, ToolsDepot.exe returns this run-time error when launched:

Run-time error '-2147024894 (80070002)':
Method '~' of object '~' failed

Tools Depot then fails to start.

Resolution

These symptoms are observed in Cisco bug ID CSCec11801.

Cisco Unity 3.1 and 4.0 do not support Windows 2000 SP4. For a workaround, perform these steps:

1. Download the patch from the Cisco Unity Tools page.
2. To apply the patch, close the Tools Depot if it is running.
3. Back up the existing Tools Depot directory at :\CommServer\Utilities\ToolsDepot.
4. Extract the files in this patch to your Tools Depot directory at :\CommServer\Utilities\ToolsDepot.
5. Run the Tools Depot.
