Hi there,

I know there is a comment on the tandberg spec sheet that only the shipped microphones work with the C20, however I was wondering if anyone has been able to successfully get wireless microphone to work with the Tandberg C20?

I wanted to see if there was a pin out available to be able to get line level or mic level wireless microphone receiver into C20 Microphone inputs?

I was hoping to try and get the Revolabs HD Solo microphone working with this unit.

Just curious to see what other integrators have tried.

Thanks

Hi Jeevan,

Your Post has been here awhile with no reply. Any updates to this yet. We are looking at wanting to do the same thing with the C20.

Hi Ken,

No response from anyone yet.

I assume Tandberg does not support this as I believe they make mention somewhere in a spec sheet that only the tandberg precision 20 mics should only be used.

I was more or less reaching out to integrators who may have tried a solution on their own with success.

Bit of a waiting game.

Hi Jeevan,

Thanks for the update. I did find a ceiling mounted microphone that might work in my application. This would eliminate the users from stringing the mic cord across the floor creating a tripping hazard. It dosent work if you are on a mobile cart but I may give it a try. It is listed here.

Ken,

Be careful about any mic solution other than the C20 mics.  The mic you refer to is the AudioScience ceiling mic and this terminates in a XLR connector.  There are pin outs available for the C20 mics but designed more to increase the length of the cable.  Tandberg is not officially supporting any mic other than the C20 mic so you'll be "breaking new ground" using something else.

I have had others also ask about the Revolabs mics and all I can say is if you can find a way to get the signal into it great but there are no adjustments on the signal on the mic inputs.

I have worked with you guys and am in FL quite of bit if you'd like to discuss further.

Hi Jeevan,

I have managed to connect a Revolabs Wireless Solo Desktop Microphone to a C20.

If you open up the XLR connector that comes with mic you will see a small circuit board, this attenuates any power running down this line.  Therefore make sure you connect using the XLR connector (obviously converting it 3.5mm jack) and this should work.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Hi Gurch,

Thanks for the info, great to know you were able to do this.

Was hoping you could give more details if possible.

1) which Revo labs solo did you use? standard or HD Model

2)  What is the cable you make mention of?  Does it come with the microphone?  Do you remove the XLR and replace it with the 3.5mm so you could go into the C20?  What kind of 3.5mm connector did you have to use (stereo/trs assumed)

3) Does the mute button on the wireless microphone work with the c20? or is just the audio that gets into the unit?

4) Any pictures avaialble of the implementation.

Thanks for the info

Hi,

The Mic that I used on the C20 is the Revolabs Solo™ Single Channel Wireless Microphone System Model - 02-DSKSYS.

This Mic comes with the 2.5mm to XLR  - http://www.goelectronic.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=REVOLABS+07-STEMIC-PPP&Category_Code=

I used the existing cable that comes with the mic and just coverted the XLR to 3.5mm jack to fit the C20.  As mentioned before you need to use this cable and go through the XLR connector because it contains a circuit boad which attenuates any power running through this line.

I havent manged to test the mute button properly with the codec but i believe this wont work.

Unfortunatley I dont have any pictures available but will try and get some over to you.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Hi Gurch,

thanks for the details, this certainly helps and am looking forward to trying this out myself.

Thanks for the updated details, much appreciated.

Sound Control Technologies just introduced the RM-P20 adapter that allows the P20 mic's male TRRS connector to terminate to a female Phoenix 4 pole block, and a dongle featuring a TRRS male to plug into the SX20 codec and female Phoenix 4 pole block.  This has been tested with a 100' CAT cable, taking advantage of the inherent RF rejection.
