Dear Friends,
We waned to use feature - Proximity for Desktop.
Do we have to upgradeto last version TC7.3.3? first?
If yes than can we do this from web access ? by accesing the web page of SX20 on the local machine and from maintance tab upgrade the .pkg file? by browsing it on local machine?
After upgrade to lastes TC7.3.3 can we once again access the web page and upgrade to CE8.0? same way how we did for TC7.3.3?
Plese sugest
Thanks,
Ajith

Yes that is the recommendation. It´s not a 100% must, but you will avoid a few bugs if you upgrade to TC7.3.3 first, which is why we recommend it.

Yes you can.

Correct.

Hi Magnus,
Thats very kind of you.
I just wanted to know do we require the pairing of the device, I mean if i wanted to share content from wirless laptop does my Laptop IP and sx20 IP there should be connectivity?
Hi
If you seek information about the Intelligent Proximity feature there is more information here:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/12156681/cisco-proximity
But the basics: It requires that you run a Cisco Proximity client on your laptop and the pairing is happening over ultrasound / IP automatically when in Proximity of the endpoint´s loud speakers. The laptop and endpoint must be able to reach eachother over IPv4 (HTTPS 443).
You may download the clients at https://proximity.cisco.com

Hi,
So lets assume I run the Cisco Proximity client on my machine
and I get connected to a wifi network --> I get an IP --> that IP address should be able to reach my SX20 IP is it correct?
That means the SX20 IP should be reachable from the wifi IP segment?
Yes, as long as it is an IPv4 address and HTTPS and the Proximity service is enabled on the endpoint.
If you can type: https://<codec-ipv4-address>; in your laptop browser and see the login page your connection should be good! Make sure you enable the services on the endpoint first though. And I also advice you to read the release notes as all the information you seek is in there.

Hi,
Also I forgot to mention is there any dependency of Touch 10 with CE8.0 upgrade?
We have Cisco TelePresence Touch 8-inch we still can go ahead with this upgrdae?
and how do I find to verify if I have Touch 8 or touch 10?
Hi
As I mentioned I recommend that you read the CE8 release notes as it will give you an understanding of the requirements to upgrade.
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/software/ce8/release-notes/ce-software-release-notes-ce8.pdf
Yes, the SX20 requires a Touch 10 or a TRC 6 remote control. Touch 8 is not supported on CE8.

Hi Magnus,
Thanks for your kind help and support
I found :
SX20 requires either a Touch10 or TRC6 remote in order to be supported with CE8( Pg 7) http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/software/ce8/release-notes/ce-software-release-notes-ce8.pdf
My final query: Do we need any Release key? for this upgrdae? as this is a major upgrade. we will be going from TCNC7.2.1 to TC7.3.3 and than EC8.0?
If you are running no crypto software (TCNC) you should upgrade to TCNC7.3.3 and then to CENC8.0.0.
No release key is required, but you need a valid contract in order to download the software.
