On the 6000 MXP codec with dual monitor enabled the second monitor displays self view when the second video stream is not active.  When a dual video stream becomes active the second monitor automatically stops displaying self view and instead displays the dual stream video.  The display of self view and then display of dial stream video on the second monitor required no user intervention or use of the remote control.  Our users are accustomed to this mode of operation and our AMX room control depends on this capability.

We found the note below in the user forum but this does not completely address the issue.  It is not enough to be able to display self view on the second monitor; it is important that the second video stream automatically display on the second monitor when it is available.

According to the release notes for TC3 (reference pg 11 of TC3 Release Notes) "It is now possible to configure which layout family to be used as default in any system state. This will among other things allow having default self view on the second monitor for dual monitor systems."
