Smart Licenses
Starting from iOS version 16.10.1a and later smart licenses is enabled by default and cannot be disabled and paper licenses are no longer valid. CUBE connects to the cloud or on-premises Satellite (and other methods), to register the feature licenses.
There are two main new Cube licenses:
CUBE-T-STD: Trunking, for service interconnect and protocol interworking. Trunk licenses are available for both standard (single node) and redundant (high-availability pair) network architectures to facilitate site-to-site and PSTN connectivity. Each trunk license enables a single call session in addition to a single forked media session for recording where required.
CUBE-L-STD: Lineside to enhance the delivery of hosted SIP communications services. Typically used when CUBE proxy IP Phones registration to the cloud. Each Line license enables a single IP Phone registration.
Old Model
CUBE licenses are a paper licenses and nothing installed or downloaded on the router, Only applying Cube command will activate cube function.
You need to enable UCK9 license which is by default loaded into the iOS. Once you enabled it, type shows evaluation then after 60 days, it is automatically converted to Right To Use RTU and it is valid permanently.
Migrating from Old Model to Smart License
CUBE-L/T-STD/RED should be purchased and associated with a smart account. All other licenses features automatically converted to smart license as perpetual licenses.(UCK9/cme-srst....etc)
