Hello,

What is the best method  to achieve that. Our CCM discard digist instruction is PreDot so PSTN calls in the CDRs don't include a prefix.

We have CCM 4.2.3

Appreciate any ideas..

Thanks

Hi,

origSPan/destSpan would help to determine[whether the endpoint of a call] was a phone vs gateway.

If the span fields are 0, it's either port 0 or not a gateway.  Also devicename fields can be used to determine the device type.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,
Anitha

Anitha, you could be a godsend! I've had some questions about that in regarding devicenames, for which I was hoping someone could provide more detail on.

I've tried using devicenames, but it's hard to know what to expect is going to show in the call record depending on the type of call it is and/or setup. For instance, on the CCM4 CDR I'm looking at I see just the IP address of the gateway in the devicename field , but on the ccm7 I see the full port+gatewayDNS+domain (IE: S0/SU0/DS1-0@EOPOKCVG01B.bofa.com. I prefer the full port as it allows me to associate/identify the specific circuit.

For phones off an analog gateway, on the ccm4 I get the analog gateway's MAC+port value in the devicename field, but on the ccm7 I get the full AALN port+gatewayDNS+domain (IE: AALN/S2/7@EOPOKCVG02A.bofa.com).

So..

1. Are you saying that regardless of call type, or what devicename is listed, that if the origSpan and destSpan ID show a vlaue of '0' then that guarantees a station as an origination/termination point?

2. In the above example, is there a reason why or something we haven't done that doesn't show the full port+gatewayDNS+domain for the devices in the CDR?

I want to say thanks ahead of time for any assistance, I'm trying to find the most acurrate method for call type classification and for rating, so both the spans and devices are important to me.
