Core Issue
The Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) incorrectly reports the time for emergency calls. The time displayed by CER is offset from the server time by one hour in these places:
- server traces
- web alert screens
- call history
The CER time is still based on the old DST rules. This problem occurs even if the CER server is updated with the appropriate Operating System (OS) patch provided by Cisco.
Resolution
The root cause of this problem is that the Java Virtual Machine that the CER uses in order to determine the current time is not updated with the new rules for DST in the United States.
This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCsi10109. There are no workarounds for this issue.
In order to resolve this issue, apply the JAVA Platform DST Updater patch from Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE) US DST Timezone Updater 1.1.0.
This patch updates the Java Virtual Machine with the new DST rules. Apply this patch in order to resolve the time difference described in this case.
