hi Rod,
Let me clarify my understanding once more. You are finding the color of the status is offline i.e greyed out (which is expected) but the text next to the color is still available/busy/idle/some such (which is unexpected). Correct?
Anyway can you please let me know the exact version where you are finding the issue? Also did you make any changes to the Webex after which the issue is happening? Was the earlier versions working fine?

I am trying to turn off presence and presence tools.
After disabling presence, users continue to see other users status as Offline. (From within WebEx Social). They show as offline even if they are currently logged into Jabber.
I turned off presence by going to Control Panel > Portal > WebEx Social Functionality and UNCHECKED the Web Chat & Presence tools.

Shows or hides the Web Chat footer icon and Communications toolbar icon from users and also hides the display of Presence
PROBLEM: Users continue to see status (not the green or yellow icons) the text next to the name that displays status such as Available, Offline, etc. All users appear as OFFLINE. This behavior shows on the Chat tool bottom toolbar, and in hovercard.
ISSUE: This is bad, since the actual user may indeed be online and logged into Jabber, however shows up as offline.
Is this a BUG or is there another setting to turn that presence status Off.

to clarify:
After disabling Chat/Presence on WebEx Social 3.0.1.
1. My name at the top left does not show the presence icon or status anymore. GOOD.
2. When i hover over a name or open someones profile page (hovercard or profile), the presence icon is not there, however the status of OFFLINE shows next to the name.
3. When i click on the People Barlet at the bottom of the page, each user has a grey presence icon and shows as offline.
This issue only shows up if turning off presence/chat.
I would like to have all views NOT show as offline, or have the presence icon because if confuses users. People show as offline when they are actually logged into WebEx Connect and / or logged into WebEx Social. I.e. status never changes and always shows as offline.

Yes, this is a bug. I have raised the bug "CSCub44824" against this issue.
