How to access the Cisco Unity Express voice mailbox from a PSTN number, so that the subscribers can access their voice mail messages externally

Resolution

In order to access the Cisco Unity Express voice mailbox from a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), these two options are available:

  • Call the Cisco Unity Direct-Inward-Dial (DID) voice mail number, and then press the * key. It prompts the subscriber to enter the user ID and password.

  • If a subscriber wants to enter only the password and not the user ID, specify the preferred PSTN, either home or cell, of the subscriber for the Cisco Unity Express user, and configure the phonenumberE164 parameter for the user.
