Hello,

Forgive the silly question, but I am running into an issue copying the tarballed database backups over to the new servers we have created for version 3.0. We are migrating from version 2.5SR5 over to the new 3.0. We have created new servers, have them associated in the director, however on step 18, when I try to copy over the tarballed JSON file to the new server using the admin user, it fails every time. I have tried filezilla, winSCP and an SFTP from the new server to our old server. Filezilla actually connects, but then is disconnected immediately.  I am assuming it is failing because the admin user logs into a menu and the client doesn't know how to drop to a shell from that menu.

I know this is likely something really simple I am overlooking but I can't get the databases over to the new servers to restore. Please help.
Filezilla logs below:

Status: Connecting to server...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "admin@server" 22
Command: Trust new Hostkey: Once
Command: Pass: **********
Status: Connected to
Error: Connection closed by server with exitcode 1
Error: Could not connect to server

Hi Cody,

Can you ping the machine? AFAIK, if you can login as admin, then there should not be any error. If any error has to occur, then it should happen while logging in as admin itself.

Regards,
Ratnadeep.

I can ping all the servers from my workstation. I can also SSH to them with no problems using the Admin user. I think the problem lies in the fact the admin user logs into the OS Configuration Console and from there you have to choose "Drop to shell" and the client I am using (Filezilla or WinSCP) doesn't know how to do that.

I am wondering how everyone else got the database tarballs onto the new server.

I figured out a way to get it done. I had to scp from the new server instead of from the old server to the new server. I don't know why I didn't try that before.
