These are the steps required in order to reset the RAID Configuration from the Option ROM Configuration for Arrays Utility of the server, which is available from the HP Smart Array Controller during boot initialization:

  1. Press the key when the Press to run the Option Rom Configuration for Arrays Utility message appears in the window in order to use the utility.

  2. From the main menu of the configuration utility, choose Delete Logical Drive. Press the down arrow twice and then press Enter.

  3. The available logical drives window appears. Press the keys in order to delete, confirm delete, and continue.

  4. Repeat steps two and three until there are no more logical drives on the system.

  5. When there are no more logical drives on the system, the available logical drives window displays the There are no more logical drives. Press to return to the main menu. message. When this appears, press the key.

  6. Press the key again to exit the Option Rom Configuration for Arrays Utility.

  7. Do not reboot. Continue with the DVD installation.

  8. During the install the No hard drives have been found message indicates that the device drivers must be chosen manually in order for the installation to succeed. When the Would you like to select drivers now? message appears, press Enter in order to accept.

  9. At this point, the system properly configures the RAID1 arrays and prompts for a key press to reboot. Press the key in order to continue.
